Can I visit The Kelpies at night?

Are dogs allowed inside The Kelpies on the tour?
Only assistance dogs can gain entry.
What time are The Kelpies lights on?
The lights come on at dusk until dawn.
What time does The Visitor Centre open?
The Visitor Centre is open 9.30am – 4pm (Nov-Mar) and 9.00am – 5pm (Apr-Oct) 7 days a week.
Where is the meet up point for the tour and how long does it last?
The tour starts at The Visitor Centre and lasts 25 minutes. Please check in to The Visitor Centre if you have booked a tour with us.
How can I request The Kelpies to be lit up for an occasion?
The Kelpies lights are decided by Scottish Canals, you can put in a request for them to be lit up here: Light Up our Landmarks - Scottish Canals
Can I stay overnight with camper van?

Do you have Wheelchair available on site?
We have 3 wheelchairs available free to loan that can either be propelled by the user or pushed. These can be reserved in advance by telephone or email.
When does the splash play open?
Weekends Easter to October and all local school holidays (weather dependant).

Small Car Park to Kelpies - 0.5 miles, 0.8 km
Main Car Park to Kelpies – 0.2 miles, 0.3 km
Can we have a picnic/barbeque?
While The Helix is not an ideal site for a barbeque, we have no problem with visitors bringing portable barbecues as long as they are not put on the grass and are on a stand of some sort, that all litter is tidied and removed (including food waste) and that the barbecue itself is cooled and removed from the site.
