Getting to The Helix is a breeze, whether you're traveling by car, train, or bus. Check out our information below on how to get here via car, parking options and travelling by public transport. Note: Both car parks fill up early in the morning during nice weather and holidays, so to avoid long delays we recommend you park at Falkirk Stadium and enjoy the walk through The Helix to The Kelpies. It may be worthwhile checking Falkirk Football Club's fixtures list before departing for The Helix and The Kelpies as this car park is unavailable on match days. Please make sure to check the barrier closing times when parking.

Train
There are 2 main train stations in Falkirk that are close to The Helix: Falkirk High (located 3 miles away) and Falkirk Grahamston (located 2 miles away). There are also services to Polmont Station, Larbert Station and Camelon Stations which are all close by. Please visit ScotRail for timetables.
Bus
There are several bus routes which will take you to The Helix. Please visit McGills website for timetables.
The Helix is located just off the main motorway routes in Central Scotland. Follow the brown tourist signs around Falkirk to reach us.
- From Edinburgh - take the M9 towards Stirling, exit at Junction 5 for Falkirk/Grangemouth.
- From Glasgow - take the M80 towards Stirling, exit at Junction 8 for M876 and join M9, exit at Junction 6 for Falkirk/Grangemouth.
- From Carlisle and the South - M74, M73, M80, M876, M9, and follow the signs for Falkirk as above.
- From Perth and the North - A9, M9 towards Edinburgh, exit at Junction 6 for Falkirk as above.

EV charging: There are 10 rapid charging (50KW) and 16 fast (22KW) charging stations at Falkirk Stadium, FK2 9EE which are available out with match days. This is a three minute walk to The Helix and 20 minutes from The Kelpies.
Helix Car Park
This is the small 78 space car park as you enter the Park. This car park has access 24/7 unless closed off on rare occasion for a large event. This car park is free to access. What 3 Words: Slimy-Safety-Slides
Kelpies Car Park
This car park has 175 spaces located near The Kelpies and Visitor Centre. The Kelpies Car Park is locked at 10pm each night (April - October), 8pm each night (November - March), with no exit until the next morning when the car park re-opens at 8am. Charges apply. What 3 Words: Cones – Wished – Hulk

While we welcome self-contained overnight parking in The Kelpies car park space, please be aware that it is a car park and not a campsite, therefore we do not provide camping facilities. We cannot accept vehicles over 8 metres in length for overnight parking.
