A Unique School Trip Experience
Give your next school trip a boost of horsepower at The Helix! For only £3.50 per pupil, your class will embark on an extraordinary adventure, discovering the world's largest equine structures, The Kelpies. Unravel the captivating history, delve into the myths, and learn about the real-life horses that inspired these majestic sculptures. As a highlight of the experience, your pupils will even get the exclusive opportunity to venture inside a Kelpie—a truly awe-inspiring moment!
We've crafted three curriculum-based tours tailored to different age groups: P2-P4, P5-P7, and S1-S2. These thoughtfully designed tours cover a diverse range of subjects, including Social Studies, Expressive Arts, Science, and Technology, providing an enriching and immersive educational experience.
Each tour lasts 45 minutes, ensuring an ideal balance of learning and excitement. School tours operate during term time from August to June, with the exception of public holidays.
School Booking FormTo ensure a smooth and seamless visit, please make your booking request at least two weeks before your intended visit date. Your booking will be confirmed when you receive a notification from us.
Should you wish to increase the number of participants on the day, we'll do our best to accommodate. Decreasing numbers is only possible up to one week before your scheduled visit, we may be unable to provide a refund for any decrease in numbers.
We understand that plans can change, and if you need to cancel your booking, you can do so up to one week before your visit without incurring any charges. However, please be mindful that failure to cancel within this timeframe will result in a charge of 50% of your total booking charge. Additionally, failure to show up for the tour will also incur this charge. You may be charged for cancellations made at short notice where we are then unable to fill the slots.
These rates are for schools/nurseries and are only accepted during school term time and not available at weekends & public holidays. School bookings are priced independently of the general pricing due to the exclusivity of your visit and as such under 5's will be charged.
To make payment as convenient as possible for you, we accept cheques, credit cards, and cash on the day of your visit. Alternatively, we can issue an invoice upon request, but kindly note that the invoice amount should not fall below the threshold of £60.00. In case an invoice is issued, it will be sent before your visit.
Please be aware that adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances may result in short-notice tour cancellations. If such a situation arises, we'll promptly offer an alternative tour date or provide a full refund if payment has already been made.
