A Living Landmark.
The Helix was funded by a Big Lottery Fund, and also received investment from its partner organisations. In return, The Helix has delivered significant infrastructure improvements to the Falkirk area.
In November 2007, The Helix was awarded a £25 million grant from the Big Lottery Fund - one of only three UK projects selected to receive cash from the Big Lottery Fund's Living Landmarks programme. Our goal was to create a new green space within the Falkirk area, connecting and engaging with its 16 communities.
With a total budget worth £43 million, we will deliver significant infrastructure improvements, including the reconnecting of the Forth and Clyde Canal to the Forth River via a major new canal extension.
The Helix gratefully receives funding from our partner organisations:
- Falkirk Council
- Big Lottery
- Falkirk Environment Trust
- Scottish Canals
- Sustrans
- SCORE
We'd also like to thank every single person who's helped to make The Helix the incredible Living Landmark it is today.
