Getting to The Helix, Home of The Kelpies

So you want to come and see the magnificent Kelpies, and their home The Helix Park, for yourself? We are ideally located in the central belt of Scotland - around 19 miles from Edinburgh and 35 miles from Glasgow airports.

There's information below on how to get here via car, parking options and travelling by public transport. We can't wait to welcome you with our 5-star service.

The Helix is located just off the main motorway routes in Central Scotland. Follow the brown tourist signs around Falkirk to reach us.

  • From Edinburgh - take the M9 towards Stirling, exit at Junction 5 for Falkirk/Grangemouth.
  • From Glasgow - take the M80 towards Stirling, exit at Junction 8 for M876 and join M9, exit at Junction 6 for Falkirk/Grangemouth.
  • From Carlisle and the South - M74, M73, M80, M876, M9, and follow the signs for Falkirk as above.
  • From Perth and the North - A9, M9 towards Edinburgh, exit at Junction 6 for Falkirk as above.

There are 2 main train stations in Falkirk that are close to The Helix: Falkirk High (located 3 miles away) and Falkirk Grahamston (located 2 miles away). There are also services to Polmont Station, Larbert Station and Camelon Stations which are all close by.
