Kelpies 10 FAQ’s


How many events are there? 

There are two events taking place, one during the day which will be free of charge and the other in the evening which will be ticketed.  

Where will the event take place? 

The day event will take place at The Helix Park and The Kelpies. The evening concert will take place at The Kelpies.  

Where can I park? 

Our car parks onsite at The Helix will be closed on the day of Saturday 27th April. The closest parking to The Kelpies will be at Falkirk Football Stadium and Forth Valley College. Spaces are limited so we urge attendees to utilise the use of public transport links.  

What will the accessibility be like in and around the park?  

There will be no vehicle access inside the Helix Park. All roads surrounding The Helix will remain open. The paths around the park will be operating normally until 4pm on 27th April then ticket checks will be carried out. Accessible entrance to the ticketed concert event will be available.  

How do I get access to the event? 

Tickets will specify an entry point where ticket checks will be carried out and security checks will take place. 

How can I travel to the event? 

 Will the event be suitable for kids? 

All entertainment during the day (until 3pm) is free to attend at The Helix park and is suitable for children. The evening ticketed concert is standing room only with a recommended age 14+. All under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult to the evening ticketed event.  

What time will the event begin? 

The free event during the day is 10.30am - 3pm 

Ticketed evening event doors will open at 5:00pm. The event will start at 7:00pm 

How will my ticket be given to me? Email or by post?  

There are no tickets issued for the daytime event.  The evening concert is ticketed and will require a purchased ticket in advance.  ‘Kelpies 10’ tickets will be an e-ticket. The unique bar code on your e-ticket can be read on your smart phone or you can print it out and bring it with you. If you cannot find your e-ticket please email or call 01324 506850.  Tickets are strictly non-transferable and will be scanned on arrival. 

Can I buy a ticket on the day? 

All evening concert tickets must be purchased in advance, no on the day tickets will be sold. 

Can I bring my own chair to the evening concert?

No, however if you require seating due to accessibility requirements please call our Box Office who can assist. 

Is there food at the event? 

Yes. There will be a food and drink village at the event where attendees can buy a range of food from different cuisines.  

Can I bring alcohol with me? 

No. You cannot bring alcoholic beverages onsite.  

For the evening concert there will be alcoholic beverage vendors onsite. 

How long will the event last? 

The FREE daytime event will be from 10.30am to 3pm  

The ticketed Evening Concert: gates open 5pm and the show starts at 7pm.  Event closes 10.30pm.  

Please note these timings are subject to change.

Will there be intense flashing lights? 

Yes. The nature of the event may contain flashing lights.  

Will there be anything else I should be aware of in advance:  

Both the day and evening events may include large horses on site. Please take care around the horses at all times and all dogs/pets must be on a short  leash at all times.  

Do I need to know Ceilidh dancing to participate in the afternoon Ceilidh?  

Our afternoon ceilidh will be a family friendly event with instructors/ dancers to help you along the way. The aim is to have fun and learn as you go!  

What should I bring with me?  

As this is an outdoor event there may be rain and/or wind so please bring a jacket in case of this. Scottish Weather can be unpredictable. 

What do I do if I can no longer attend?  

No refunds are issued on purchase of a ticket 

Can I join a waiting list if tickets have sold out for the evening event?  

We do not operate a waiting list system. 

Is there access to public mobility scooters? 

No we do not provide these, so you will need to provide your own mobility aids. Most areas of our parks are fully accessible but please double check any access requirements before booking by emailing: or call 01324 506850.

Can I bring my assistance dog?  

Yes, guide dogs for the blind, hearing dogs for the deaf and assistance dogs are all permitted.  

Am I able to bring my baby pushchair?  

Yes, you can during the day. 

Evening concert is for recommended ages 14+ and all under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. The evening concert is standing room only.  

Are there toilets onsite?  

Yes, there are toilets and disabled toilets in the parks. The visitor centre toilets will be closed however additional toilets will be onsite. There is also changing places toilets in the large car park at The Helix Park.  

Can I use my debit/credit card? 

The vendors onsite do take cards. However sometimes it can be helpful to have cash in case the card machine does not work.  

Can I collect my tickets for the evening event from the box office? 

No. You will receive your ticket via email, all tickets will be scanned, and customers must have a e-ticket with a unique bar code. Valid tickets will be accepted in all formats, whether printed or on mobile phone.  

I have not received an email confirmation, what should I do?  

No, if you haven't received an email confirming your ticket purchase, please send us details of your booking and when you booked your tickets. Please email or call 01324 506850. 

Is it suitable for ASN? 

We do encourage everyone to come along and participate in our celebrations. Our event will contain loud music and flashing lights which some users may find overwhelming. 

Are there disabled toilets?  

Yes, there are disabled toilets available at The Helix Park. Changing places toilets are only available at the large car park.  

What will happen if the weather is bad?  

Kelpies 10 will only be cancelled if the weather in Falkirk is perceived to be a danger to the public (e.g. extremely high winds).  

The Kelpies 10 will not be cancelled in the following circumstances: 

  • Heavy rain in Falkirk - we advise that all visitors dress appropriately for the weather 
  • Heavy rain in other areas of Scotland - we advise our visitors to take note of the weather conditions on route to the event and allow ample time for their journey. 
  • Very Cold Weather - we advise that our visitors dress warmly and appropriately for cold weather 
  • The decision to cancel if applicable, will be made at 8am on the day of Kelpies 10. Shortly after which we will endeavour to contact you either by e-mail or by text and a notice will be posted on the front page of our website and social media sites. 
  • You should check the web site and social media from 9am of the day of the event for any updates.  

Will the event be rescheduled if it is called off due to unforeseen circumstance?  

We will work with all the parties and content providers in Kelpies 10 to see if rescheduling is possible. If you have booked tickets for Kelpies 10, we will contact you directly via email to let you know what will happen. Please keep an eye on our social media about any updates on rescheduled events.  

Can I bring my drone?   

No. Use of a drone on the site of Kelpies 10 this contravenes aviation safety legislation and, to ensure the safety of the general public, we reserve the right to call the police to intervene. 

Will there be photographers/photo opportunities? 

Yes, we encourage you to take photos and videos during the event. Please remember to tag Falkirk Council and The Helix! 

Where will the blue badge parking be?

Plans are still developing so anyone purchasing a blue badge ticket will be emailed full information nearer the time as well as the website being updated so check regularly for updates.

Where will the blue badge viewing area be for the evening concert? 

Plans are still developing with layout yet to be confirmed however this will be emailed out to all those who have purchased tickets in advance of where this will be located and how to access it.

How do I purchase a blue badge ticket for the evening concert? 

These spaces are limited and can be purchased by calling 01324 506850.

Can I bring my under 14 to the evening concert? 

We are advertising the evening event as recommended over 14 years.  This does not mean we won’t allow but the event is aimed at over 14’s.

Can I get a carers ticket? 

Carers tickets are limited.  Please call 01324 506850
