Kelpies 10 FAQ’s

Where do I access the evening concert? 

There will only be one entrance point to the evening concert which can be accessed from the main helix park heading towards the Kelpies.  All surrounding footpaths from Skinflats, Grangemouth, Langless and Carron will be closed access to ensure we have a safe and secure site.  All footpaths will be open at the end of the event if you wish to leave in these directions.

Can I park in the Helix?

No, there will be no public vehicles permitted on site at Helix Park from 10pm Friday 26th April to Sunday 28th April 8am.

Where can I park?

Public self-parking is available at Falkirk Stadium or Forth Valley College.  Please ensure you park in the designated parking space and be courteous to other vehicles.  Please consider using public transport or active travel where possible.

Where is the disabled parking?

Blue badge parking will be at the south stand of Falkirk Stadium and all blue badges must be on display at all times to park in this area. For the evening performance from 5.30pm – 11pm there will be a disabled access shuttle bus in operation to the main performance area.  This is for blue badge holders only.  

Is there a drop off/ pick up point?

Yes, a designated drop off area will be at Almond Road Industrial Estate.  This is strictly a drop off only area.

Will there be public transport?

There is a designated FREE shuttle bus operating from Falkirk Grahamston Station to Helix Park.  The shuttle bus will operate form 10am – 11pm.

Is there a viewing area for disabled/ blue badge holders?

Yes, you need to have purchased a ticket specifically for this area however the site is laid out so that you will see from further back and there will be screens as well.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are not permitted to the evening performance event.

Can I bring my assistance dog?

Yes, guide dogs for the blind, hearing dogs for the deaf and assistance dogs are all permitted.

Will I be able to walk to the park from Skinflats or Langlees direction?

No access from Grangemouth, Skinflats, Langlees and Carron is available via the footpaths from the north of the Kelpies from 3pm – 11pm.  After the evening performance these paths will reopen.

Will the park close?

At 3pm the area around the Kelpies will close to all public.  All performances and activities will finish at 3pm and stewards will direct you to the main Helix Park where you are more than welcome to stay.

Will I get access to the Kelpies after 3pm?

No.  The main Kelpies area from the main car park will close and only those who have purchased tickets will be allowed access to this area when gates open at 5pm.

Can I bring a camping chair?

No, strictly no camp chairs/ deck chairs are permitted on site for the evening performance.

Where is the parking?

All public self-parking is at Falkirk stadium or Forth Valley College.  Please follow directional signage for safe paths/ walking routes to the park.

Can I bring my own food and drink to the concert?

No, there will be a bag check and there will also be sufficient food and drink vendors on site.

Will alcohol be sold?

Yes, there is a bar on site.

Can I fly my drone?

No, public operated drones are not permitted.

Am I able to bring my baby pushchair?

Yes, you can during the day however pushchairs are not permitted during the evening concert.. 

The evening event is recommended for 12 years+ and all under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult at all times with strictly no pushchairs allowed on site.

Are there toilets onsite?

Yes, there are toilets and disabled toilets in the parks the visitor centre toilets will be closed however additional toilets will be onsite. There are also a changing places toilet in the large car park at The Helix Park.

Can I use my debit/credit card?

The vendors onsite do take cards. However sometimes it can be helpful to have cash in case the card machine does not work.

Can I collect tickets from the box office?

No, there is no collect at box office for outdoor workshops. You will receive your ticket via email, all tickets will be scanned, and customers must have a e-ticket with a unique bar code. Valid tickets will be accepted in all formats, whether printed or on mobile phone.

I have not received an email confirmation, what should I do?

No, if you haven't received an email confirming your ticket purchase, please send us details of your booking and when you booked your tickets. Please email bookings@falkirk.gov.uk or call 01324 506850.

Is it suitable for ASN?

We do encourage everyone to come along and participate in our celebrations. Our event will contain loud music and flashing lights which some users may find overwhelming.

Are there disabled toilets?

Yes, there are disabled toilets available at The Helix Park. Changing places toilets are only available at in the large car park.

Can I bring my own bag?

Yes, your bag must not be bigger than A4 (8.3in x 11.7in). Please check our terms and conditions below for information on what you can't bring. 

What will happen if the weather is bad?

Kelpies 10 will only be cancelled if the weather in Falkirk is perceived to be a danger to the public (e.g. extremely high winds).

The Kelpies 10 will not be cancelled in the following circumstances:

  • Heavy rain in Falkirk - we advise that all visitors dress appropriately for the weather
  • Heavy rain in other areas of Scotland - we advise our visitors to take note of the weather conditions on route to the event and allow ample time for their journey.
  • Very Cold Weather - we advise that our visitors dress warmly and appropriately for cold weather
  • The decision to cancel will be made at 8am on the day of Kelpies 10. Shortly after which we will endeavour to contact you either by e-mail or by text and a notice will be posted on the front page of our website and social media sites.
  • You should check the web site and social media from 9am of the day of the event.

Will the event be rescheduled if it is called off due to unforeseen circumstance?

We will work with all the parties and content providers in Kelpies 10 to see if rescheduling is possible. If you have booked tickets for Kelpies 10, we will contact you directly via email to let you know what will happen. Please keep an eye on our social media about any updates on rescheduled events.

 

Terms and conditions

  • Under no circumstances can Tickets be exchanged, refunded, or returned after purchase.
  • Lost tickets will not be replaced and all ticket enquiries should be directed to bookings@falkirk.gov.uk in the first instance.
  • The right of admission is reserved, and ID may be required to be shown.
  • Under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over, maximum 4 per adult.
  • Gates open at 1700 on Saturday 27th April 2024. The accessibility area is only available to disabled patrons and their carers. Due to space limitations and in order to ensure that we can accommodate everyone who applies, we cannot allow non-disabled persons who are not the immediate carers to access these areas within the festival grounds.
  • No unauthorised sound systems or personal generators are allowed on site.
  • The promoter reserves the right to alter or, in the event of adverse weather conditions, to curtail or cancel the performance.
  • The promoter reserves the right to add, withdraw or substitute artists and to vary the programme if necessary.
  • What should not be brought onsite:
  • No pets are permitted on site unless used for a disability.
  • No glass allowed on site.
  • Strictly no fireworks, flares, smoke bombs or open fires on site.
  • No food or alcohol may be brought on site.
  • Anyone that is caught with a controlled substance will be reported to the Police immediately.
  • Unauthorised alcohol sales are prohibited and will result in eviction.
  • You must cooperate with the Challenge 25 alcohol purchasing policy.
  • The promoter will not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal items.
  • The use of Drones are prohibited and will be confiscated.
  • All vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas at Falkirk Stadium or Forth Valley College
  • Vehicles parked on areas of the public highway causing an obstruction will be towed away.
  • The Parking area info will be shown on website
  • Photography and Video:
  • Ticket holders consent to inclusion in photographic, visual and audio promotion of the event.
  • If the weather is wet, ground conditions in some areas will be puddled or muddy. It is the ticket holders responsibility to be prepared for the ground conditions. Wear clothes/shoes appropriate for ground conditions. In the event of poor weather move around the site with caution.
