Walk the Helix & discover a huge path network

Whether your aim is to get fit, relax in the fresh air, or explore your local area, the walks around the new Helix path network have loads to offer. Walking is a popular activity in Scotland, but you don't have to head for the hills. Get out and about on local walking trails and enjoy the outdoors.

New routes near you

12km of new and upgraded paths are already proving popular as walking routes with local people. The paths also improve connections between Grangemouth, Beancross, Polmont, Lower Braes, Laurieston and Westquarter.

A great way to get fit

We're working with Step Forth and Paths for All to show off the huge health benefits walking offers.  Did you know a 30-minute walk five times a week can help you stay fit and healthy? Are you able to change your routine to walk more often?

Walk with a group

Get involved in a local walking group and make the most of the new Helix paths.  Bring the little one in a buggy or give Nordic walking a try.

Find out more about nearby Walking Groups or become a walk leader.

We're also running Wednesday evening walking tours throughout the summer.

Bring the dog

The Helix has teamed up with Green Dog Walkers (GDW) to keep the Helix paths free from dog fouling.

We're running weekly Evening Walking Tours and we'd be delighted to see you. The walks take place every Wednesday evening.

The Falkirk & District Walking Forum is a great place to connect with others involved in walking in the area.

Helix paths are ideal for wheelchair users. Get in touch with  Forth Valley Disability Sports for support and info.

A new long-distance route for walkers is being planned for central Scotland.
