Did you know? The Helix is a member of the Scottish Tourism Alliance. The Alliance's purpose is to represent and unite tourism interests, with effective and independent communication and lobbying.

Tourism

By creating a special place, the Helix aims to transform external perceptions of Falkirk and Grangemouth area.

Set to become one of the country's most popular visitor destinations, the Helix will attract hundreds of thousands of visitors every year to discover and explore a truly unique and special place.

VisitScotland

The Helix is working closely with VisitScotland, the country's national tourism organisation, to ensure that we have the best possible exposure to the inbound tourism market.

Our pic below shows Ronnie Simpson, Head of Helix business development (left), at VisitScotland Expo 2013 with VisitScotland's chief executive, Malcolm Roughead.

Behind them are the stars of the show, the Kelpie maquettes. The 30-metre-tall versions will be installed on the Helix site during summer 2013.

The Kelpies

The Kelpies® are expected to become a magnet for local visitors and tourists alike. Andy Scott's maquettes of the Kelpies® were a key feature of the project's successful bid for Big Lottery funding.

They immediately captured the public's imagination and have continued to attract healthy media attention ever since.
