Our canal construction contractor, Balfour
Beatty, will be holding Open Doors Days on Friday
9th and Saturday 10th November.
Visitors will be able to see for themselves progress on our
exciting project to create a new canal extension from the
existing Forth & Clyde canal down to a new sea lock on the
River Carron.
Balfour Beatty are also delivering a
new under-bridge to the M9, feeding the canal below the major trunk
road, and a new lock at the Kelpies - two 30m high horses' heads -
featuring a new boat turning pool.
You'll also hear about other aspects of the Helix project, which
is transforming 350 hectares of land between Falkirk and
Grangemouth into a parkland and visitor attraction set to
open from the summer of 2013.
