Locals give their verdict on new paths

Posted Friday 28th May 2010

Local residents have been testing the resurfaced Abbotshaugh pathways.

The Helix invited community members to sample the upgraded paths following the completion of a four-week works programme.

Other improvements carried out were the removal of weeds and vegetation, an increase in the width of the paths and the installation of better drainage.

So what was the initial verdict?

“I walk along the paths nearly every day,” said Langlees resident Karen Beattie. “From what I’ve seen, the work done will make a difference.”

Fellow Langlees resident Roy Brown said, “The paths look really good. I like the idea that they are joining together various parts of Falkirk.”

“Lovely,” was the reaction of Ruth Davidson from Bainsford. “It’s a nice stretch to go for a walk with the kids.”

Tricia Valentine from Stenhousemuir added, “The paths are no longer overgrown. And they’ll be easier to push buggies along now that the resurfacing is completed.”
