Ground Investigation contract gets under way
Glover Site Investigations has been contracted to undertake ground investigation and sampling works in the Glensburgh and Old Town areas of Grangemouth.
Work got under way today (16th August) and is programmed to last for a period of four weeks.
The work will enable the Helix to finalise the design of the Kelpie foundations and define the requirements for the Kelpie pool/hub area.
The following activities will be carried out:
- hand-excavated inspection pits
- formation of boreholes by light cable percussion drilling rig
- machine-excavated trial pits
- surface water sampling
Temporary fencing or barriers will be installed at each Ground Investigation location to prevent members of the public from encroaching on the works area.
