Countdown to Helix Day

04 Apr

Make sure you keep Saturday 14 September 2013 free in your diaries.

That's when we'll be holding our first ever Helix Day as we mark the official completion of our new central park.

And that's not all. In the months leading up to Helix Day, Falkirk Community Trust and the Helix team will be working with UZ Arts and 'Roofless' to create a remarkable and unique programme of artistic projects and performances throughout the Helix site.

Created and produced by UZ Arts, Roofless is Scotland's biggest and most ambitious outdoor arts programme that unites artists from across Scotland, the UK and Europe with local communities to create spectacular large-scale free public art events in the heart of their communities.

At the Helix, Roofless will be encouraging local communities to explore their new central park by engaging with a team of artists on a number of different workshops and events.

The programme will include some targeted activity where artists will work with specific groups (runners, walkers, cyclists, horse riders, history enthusiasts, ecologists, bee keepers and gardeners). There will also be open workshops where, whatever your age, interests or ability, you can drop in and take part.

It all gets under way in late April 2013 and will run until September 2013. You'll find details of the artists and their work on our website, with specific project details being announced over the coming weeks.

Roofless is also accessible throughout the year via its digital and social media platforms, allowing communities from Scotland and the world to keep up to date with the latest events.
